A Morning of Success

The morning of Saturday, September 20 a Student Success Convocation was held in the Valencia east campus performing arts building.
Heissam Jebailey a Canadian native but raised in Orlando, FL who is also known as “The Newspaper Guy” was the speaker for this event.
His words of once being a Valencia Student Success student to becoming the publisher and co-owner of one of the largest independent college newspapers in the country were very motivating for the present Student Success students.
His 30 quick tips for success In and Out of College were very thorough and easy to collect. The Newspaper Guy also made it clear that “you will become successful on something you love to do” and “If you don’t enjoy your work then why are you doing it”.
While sitting with Heissam Jebailey he made it clear that you should go Above and beyond. Also respect those around you and as he says “Don’t stress or worry to much”. The newspaper guy also made it clear that if he could be successful in and out of college so can you.
Walter Waite of Orlando said that the speaker was a great outreach to the students in Valencia. Now he has learned how to take advantage of his Student Success class. Also it was very enlightening experience.
He wasn’t the only student that felt satisfied with the words of “The Newspaper Guy”. Pavitri Doobay from Orlando who is a freshman at Valencia said that hearing the encouraging words from Heissam Jebailey was very calming and relief. It being her first year in college has been very overwhelming for her but knowing that when there’s a will there’s away made her realize that every student has all the same thought she has and it was a relief to get the steps to overcome.
Heissame Jebailey or who could be referred as “The Newspaper Guy” made an obvious improvement in the Student Success students that attended the convocation. His words of encouragement and steps to follow to be successful was and obvious esteem builder.
The Newspaper Guy and his words will be imbedded in Valencia Students from In and Out.
